With facebook these days I am not sure I get the point of blogs much. Everyone i think that visits here is a friend on Facebook but I figured why not update and put these on here.

I know I know I know to those who have harassed me about not updating my blog. I just suck at it! I haven't scrapped in ages. Have not even felt the need until lately. Here's what has been going on in a brief format.

1. Been in custody issues with my ex.

2. Went to San Francisco

3. Went to Chicago

4. Went to Michigan and got to spend Tami's 40th birthday with her. Carolyn and Kim went with me and check out Tami's blog for all the details.

5. Leaving for Hawaii on Saturday

6. I am a Facebook addict too which consumes too much of my time.

I will scrap again!!!! I actually bought some paper in Michigan. Tami has been motivating me to get at least SOMETHING done. I will have to make a Hawaii book for sure when I get back and make one for my aunt whom is taking me. I'll try to be better but I make no promises!

Don't give up on my yet! ***in my best Arnold voice*** I'll be back!

One Hour Layout Contest at Creative Scrappers

I ACTUALLY joined in the one hour layout contest over at Creative Scrappers. They had a time problem so we actually had two hours. Two hours would SEEM like a long time but of course I had to have my eyes and ears on the tv to watch the OSU v. Pitt game. Sadly OSU didn't continue but they put up one great fight! GO COWBOYS!!!!!

So here is the layout I did during pacing the floor during the b-ball game. I was going to go back and change some things but alas I am just too lazy. I sure love playing with Glimmer Mist though!! It's a fast way to cover that bare chipboard!.

The first is just a card I popped together. If you know me, you know I hate to make cards.

This layout was done with a sketch I had laying around that Zarah made and had sent to me some time ago. Not much of a double page layout girl but it was a nice change of pace.

Don't go into Shock.......but......

I actually scrapped some layouts. While I know it is shocking it felt good to get something done.

The first two layouts are of my kids over a year ago at my mother's pool one day. My daughter just jumped in with her clothes on and my son thought that was so funny. Not sure if I "love the layouts" but they are done.

These I liked how they turned out. I love the Crate Paper Prudence Collection!!!!!! Gorgeous papers! The two layouts are similar but one is for my friend and one is for my albums so I figured it didn't matter if they are alike.

AND guess what I actually went to the local scrapbook store and bought a a Maya Mist and a couple MORE bottles of Glimmer Mist (because I soooooo needed more - LOL).

I did this layout based on a sketch my homegirl Tami Floyd sent me. She had accumulated some sketches and sent me some to help inspire me. I can not say who made the sketch because of course I have no idea who did it but I certainly enjoyed working with it. Just wanted to see if I still knew how my paper cutter worked.

Yes people I am still alive and based on Jenelle's comment on the previous post, I SUPPOSE I will post the only layout I have done recently although I do have one sitting out waiting patiently for me to finish someday. The one characteristic of paper I love so much is the fact it is so patient with me when patience is lacking everywhere else.

There is a lot going on in life right now and I am glad that the Holidays have passed on by and maybe the waves will calm down. Based on other aspects in life I don't see those waves calming but potentially turning into a hurricane. Sorry I don't go into much detail but unfortunately I don't have the freedom to post everything that comes across my mind because it surely would come back to haunt me. So maybe, JUST MAYBE, someday I will have another layout to post.

I'll keep trucking along and see if that paper on the desk can work with me.

I also want to say thank you to Creative Scrappers. Kristine has been wonderful to me and I enjoyed being on the Design Team. I wish I could have been more active but it's a New Year and a new beginning.

Oh and well oh well i never did post this layout but I did do it what seems like weeks ago.

Here is my layout done with this week's sketch over at Creative Scrappers. The lighting was terrible when I took the picture but just am too lazy to take another one = LOL! The second layout I never posted but it was done with a sketch from a couple weeks ago. I admire all you that update your blog so regularly with so many pictures because quite frankly I suck at it. I have been on a Fancy Pants kick obviously. I still love my Fancy Pants!

Just thought I'd get these loaded. The first one is my friend's daughter for her album. I had that kit sitting around forever so it felt good to get it done.

I just love this Kaisercaft Paper. The colors were perfect for this sepia tone picture.

Don't go into shock but I actually made a card (insert big eye roll here). If you know me you know I won't spend a lot of time making cards (although I wish I did sometimes).

When Tami came to visit and spent a weekend with us during our last scrappy retreat, her luggage got lost (something that would happen to Tami almost inevitably with her luck). So she didn't really have any tools or pages to work on so of course the rest of us had no problem finding stuff for her to do. I gave her a kit I had put together a long time ago and this is what she threw together for me. Isn't she just the most coolest chick in the world? Love her! Since I have the layout I have to take a minute to share it!

Just wanted to share a couple "appropriate" pictures from the weekend. I know what happens there stays there but how can I resist posting a couple of pics. We had so much fun!!!! It was a great retreat with very little scrapping accomplished.

Tami got to come and that made it even better. Even if her luggage got lost she just rolled with the flow. The weekend ended too soon and hopefully she will be back before we know it.

New Sketch Layout for Creative Scrappers

Here is my design based on a sketch found over at Creative Scrappers. Be sure to check them out. I love this We R Memory Keepers paper.

On a personal note, I spent the majority of the day up in Stillwater at Oklahoma State University. We checked out Megan's room and went to lunch and picked up her books, some clothes and some snacks from Wal-Mart. Her room is the size of a king size bed (I am not kidding either-lol). We found all the buildings her classes are in so she knows where to go. Her room here at home looks strange without the curtains she took and her bedspread etc. I definitely have some work to do in there because of course she only left it sort of clean.

If you haven't checked out Creative Scrappers Sketches you are missing out!! I popped this one out yesterday and wished you could see all the glimmer mist in the photo but alas it does not photograph well.

I am wondering how my dear sista Tami is feeling today. She sent me a picture she got to take with her and Kenny Chesney last night. She was stoked!!! She called during intermission and needless to say you could tell she was having a blast.

Today I went jeans shopping. Have I mentioned how much I hate clothes shopping for me? Feel like I am going off to a battle when I walk through the store doors. Who sizes clothes? Why aren't all sizes the same? Why don't they have your size in that cute shirt hanging there that you really like? What is up with that? Then you gather up your hunted items and head to the dressing room. Who thought fluorescent lighting in dressing rooms was a good idea? After trying on 14 shirts and 20 pairs of jeans I did manage to find 2 pairs of jeans, 1 pair of pants, and 4 tops. It was tax free day so that is always good. Jean shopping is always like going hunting, you are just looking for that one good kill (or what I like to refer to as good butt jeans). I was happy that the initial size I had picked out was too big and went a size down. WOO HOO!

I went to Wal-Mart and it seems I bought $100 of nothing. I bought cereal and fruit and the rest was cleaning and toiletry supplies. Amazes me how fast it adds up.

Okay you ladies who keep giving me a hard time (you know who you are). I FINALLY have some layouts to share. I did these over a retreat weekend in Tahlequah. Yes this is all I did BUT I had a great realxing weekend and that's what it is about RIGHT? My baseball layouts are done in 8 1/2 x 11 and I TRY to keep them simple (hard for me).

I also cleaned my scrap area this weekend so now that I can see my work space maybe I MIGHT even lay something out to work on (don't hold your breath though - lol). So here are my layouts-

Graduation - Where does the time go!!!

My baby girl graduated Friday night. Seems like all I did was blink and she grew up on me. Brendan was as patient (at least as much as he could). Megan looked beautiful and she towers over me in her heels since she is taller than me to begin with. And yes those curls in her hair are ALL NATURAL (she didn't get those from her mother- lol)

The F-Lister layout is for mine and Tami's manufacturer challenge which was K and Company. I won't go into what an F-lister is since it is kind of a private joke amongst us girls. It was a quickie layout but at least I scrapped which I had not in FOREVER!!!! Maybe this will be the kick in the pants I needed. (yeah right - LOL)

This is a layout I have had done for a while just never took a picture. I did this for mine and Tami's Fancy Pants challenge. I do Brendan's t-ball album in 8 1/2 x 11 and try to keep it simple.

Thanks to those that have been checking on me!!! I have not really been scrapping lately and living at the ball parks! Brendan had a game Friday night and Saturday had a soccer game and 3 baseball games and another game Sunday AND another game tonight and practice tomorrow night. WHHEEEWWWW! Feels like I am hardly ever home lately. I have a layout I am working on and I still have to to do mine and Tami's new challenge before Sunday which is DREAM STREET papers!! I WILL get it done do or die!!!

Hopefully soon I'll have more time and something to share with you!!!

Fancy Pants Layout

Here is my first layout for the Fancy Pants challenge. I did this layout over at Carolyn's house Saturday night. She cooked dinner for me and I scrapped for her. The kids played and I didn't get home until 2 am. I used all of Carolyn's stuff and there is one little ole rubon in the corner of the photo. This is a scraplift of Tami Floyd. This is also for a challenge over a Back Porch Memories. I will definitely be doing some things with Fancy Pants Papa this weekend.

This is Tami's magnificent layout below that I copied! When I am feeling uninspired I know I can always count on her gallery to at least get me scrapping even if it is just copying her.

Good Old Tami Challenged Me

We spent about two hours on the phone last night since my son fell asleep so early and I think we could talk about scrappy stuff for a week. She certainly does inspire me. Well, she challenged me to scrap with some American Crafts paper we both have been hoarding for a while. So this coming weekend we each have to make just one layout with the paper. Somehow I know Tami will try to show me up and probably do 3 layouts and 4 cards because once she gets scrapping there is no stopping her.

Tami and I are challenging each other every other week with a paper line so feel free to join us and show us your creations.

So I have about 6 things at home to take pictures of, although some of it is for my February DT stuff over at Creative Scrap Shack. I'll post the couple that I can this weekend sometime. Of course that would mean I will actually have to post a picture and I haven't done that yet - LOL.

I guess Hell has Frozen Over

and so it begins...........I believe I once said hell will freeze over before I start a blog. So it must be really really cold outside. Why would anyone want to read this? I have absolutely no answer to that question. I can't imagine ever putting much personal information on here but I do want to use it for a creative outlet and to talk about all things scrap related.
